Office workers from Evolve Care Group who provide central support for the award-winning Hatherleigh Nursing Home, recently handed out over £500 of food supplies and sleeping bags as part of its efforts to be helping the homeless.
Commercial Director Sian Harris told us “we provide care for the elderly in our state of the art nursing homes. Unfortunately, many older people in Bristol are not so lucky and are forced to sleep on the streets. As a socially responsible company, we are delighted to try and help them.”
Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol, said: “My thanks go to everyone at Evolve Care Group involved in these donations for some of Bristol’s most vulnerable residents. This is a good example of the momentum and resource we can bring together across the city, working as a whole greater than the sum of its parts.”
Workers from Evolve Care Group are given an annual charity budget of £100,000 to support local causes. This winter they chose to spend some of their budget on food, blankets, socks and sleeping bags. Over twenty members of the Central Support team switched off their computers early and personally handed out the supplies to people on the streets.
